An early Adventure

4 am, time to awake!
Mom’s still asleep, I give her a shake.
She gets out of bed with a yawn and a sigh,
She looks out the window and sees the dark sky.
She perks up and says, "I forgot!"
She shakes up my dad and he awakes with a "What?"
I say, "Wake up, it’s time to go!"
He hops out of bed, and what do you know?
He’s already dressed with his hair combed and all,
He looks at me, and stands up tall.
I rush to my room, and slip on a dress,
But then I realize, my hair’s all a mess!
I brush and brush,
And floss in a rush.
My sister walks in,
I ask, " Where have you been?"
She’s wearing her clothes, and her hair is all done.
It looks so perfect when it’s up in a bun.
She finally answers, "I got ready before."
Now we were all done, so we headed out the door.
Mom and Dad carried all luggage to the car,
We load up on snacks, ‘cause the rides very far.
Three hours later, we were at the airport,
I gazed at the airplanes and jets of all sort.
Now it was seven, and as we checked in,
We watched activity start to begin.
People working and walking too,
Also waiting for planes, like we were to do.
Finally at eight, our plane had arrived!
We all took our seats in row C 35.
The pilot announced, "We’re ready to go!"
I listened to the engine start with a mighty blow.
Finally it happened, we were up in the sky!
The plane turned and twisted as it started to fly.
The ride was amazing, it went really great!
We arrived at our destination, not a second late.

A Tropical Wonder

The tropical waters, the waves blue and bright,
I hear some splashing and look too my right.
A stingrays what I see!
Oh jolly, oh gee!
I took out my camera, who was waiting for me,
To take pictures of animals, trees, and the sea.
I snapped up a photo, two, three, four!
Then went to the hotel to go take some more.
Later we swam in the great ocean blue,
Who seems like she is just calling to you.
I saw some dolphins, skipping along,
They made swift splashes that sang me a song.
We hop on a boat that belongs to our friends,
We want to go sailing before the day ends.
We cruise on the ocean, then enter the bay,
I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I have to say,
It was calm and I enjoyed the ride,
I loved seeing animals and changes in tide.
Everything was great,
Our hotel was not to ornate,
The temperature was fine,
The highest it reached was a nice 79.
The water was salty, but cool and clear,
I just can’t wait to come back next year.
On the very last day,
Of the weekend-long stay,
We went to the board walk,
To ride rides, play games, shop, and just talk.
The warm sunny day,
Later turned gray.
We headed to the game room,
Where all the fun resumed.
We bought a few tokens and won lots of games,
We then headed to the counter where our prizes were claimed.
Our vacation was great, but didn’t last a while,
Before I knew it, I was going home with a SMILE!

The Strawberry

I'm a strawberry as plump as can be
I come from florida weathers and grow in a tree
I'm going to colder states up in the north
but I really enjoy Florida's sweet warmth
If I were not me I would become a house
and comfort a whole family as snug as a mouse
others think I'm a top, but I'm simply a berry
a simple strawberry
Inside of me I'm only juice but I feel more than that
I feel more than a simple old splat
I want a home and someone to love me
and I'll love them like a mommy and baby
and maybe just maybe they will love me too.

Reading Books

Reading a book is a very
Exciting thing for you to do.
Adventures await you,
Daring you to read on.
Inside your imagination,
Nothing is cooler then
Going on a Quest or journey.

Boring books don't exsist,
Only in you dreams. So
Open a book and
Keep the magic inside you.
So much to learn and discover when you are reading books.

READING!

Reading makes the world go around.
Endings, beginnings, and middles are what some stories are made of.
Also facts and opinions.
DING!
Some books give you ideas.
I personally like the books with facts.
Now and forever, I shall read!
Good book, plus comfy chair plus a best friend equals infinite joy!

Blue

Blue reminds me of the ocean,
calm and peaceful.
In my ear, blue is crashing against rocks, BOOM!
On my tongue, blue tastes salty! YUCK!
It makes me feel soggy.
Blue can smell like a rotten egg.
Blue looks like a BIG beautiful ocean.

The Basketball Tournament

Once there were 64 teams
That came to play basketball.
They played in the month of March.
By April, there were no games at all.
They came from the north, south, east and west
And they all tried to do their best.
From 16 to 8 the “The Final Four,”
Each time a team loses they go out the door.
It all comes down in the final game
Where 2 teams battle for fortune and fame.

Kita

White, black, and brown, you see.
She is some kind of calico to me.

Someone left her on the street,
but she was found; which is really neat.

She was found by the Humane Society,
and now she belongs to mom dad, and me.

White, black, and brown, you see.
She is some kind of calico to me.

Journey to the Center of the Room

My cat went up and down.
He looked all around
on the journey
to the center of the room.

He remembered in a flash,
And he started to dash,
toward the center of the room.

This was his room,
and then he tripped on a broom,
but fell right in the center of the room.

The job was done.
He could have some fun.
After the journey to the center of the room.

Hoot, squeak, meow, and fly,

and say goodbye.

Pixies

Frolicking in the forest
Are pixies with joy
Who have no worries
And are always happy
Their sighs make flowers grow
Their anger makes animals die
Their happiness makes the sun shine
Their sadness makes it pour
These pixies have emotions
Just like us
And they have consequences
Just like us
Only theirs
Are ones no one knows about
We just see what happens
Because of their emotions

Night Time

It’s night fall
The crickets are chirping
The frogs are croaking
All outside your window
You throw the covers over your head
To try and drown out the noise
You will be frustrated
But soon it’ll subside
You think about happy times
Enjoy the moments
While you have them
The time now goes to present
To you where you are
Under the covers
Before you know it the sounds are gone
You may now sleep to your heart’s content

A Rainy Day

The cold wet rain
It likes to fall
Everywhere it falls
No matter where or when
You go under shelter somewhere
To keep from getting wet
You may be scared
But soon it’ll go
You think wayyy back
Enjoy the memories
While you have them
The time now goes to present
To you where you are
Under the shelter somewhere
Before you know it
The rain has stopped
Your mind got you through
All that rainy rainy time
Now you continue to lead your life
And be where you should go or be

The only thing that really gets me up in the morning

The Wonder of America

America the beautiful,
America the great,
Founded by great Fathers
Who proudly elate.
From the Statue of Liberty,
Whose torch rises high,
To the American Flag:
This will fly bye-and-bye.
There are so many wonders
This country has known,
And so many others
Have never been shown.
But as these states
Grow closer together,
This country always is our Wonder
Now and forever.

My Friend

One day Amy went to the store
She saw me there
I said hi, but she didn't answer
Its sad sometimes
But I got over it
I guess
Then I made a new friend
Do you know who?
I do
Do you?
It's Sonic, of course.
He is my new friend

Raindrops

Raindrops, raindrops I love raindrops and I see them everyday.
Dew drops, rainstorms and snowy days,
Depending where you are it’s never the same.
I’ve never seen snow before but I wish that I could.
I wish I could go sledding and build a snow man
And have a snowball fight.
Right here there’s no snow,
But I can play at the beach – Oh yeah!
Raindrops, raindrops I love raindrops and I see them everyday.
Dew drops, rainstorms and snowy days,
Depending where you are it’s never the same.

Why can’t Matthew do it?

I want to sleep
Okay, I won’t do it

A trip to the Beach

Whenever we go to the beach,

I pick up all the seashells I can reach.

I look for every different kind

And when I find them they are mine.

Some shells are twisty and twirly,

And some colors look kind of swirly.

Once I even found a shark's tooth.

Hard to believe, but it's the truth.

There are so many different ones,

That's why going to the beach is so much fun.

When the sun gets hot and we get hotter,

We cool off by playing in the water.

Going to the beach is fun to do.

Try it and I bet you'll like it, too.

Moose on the Loose

When I was in Nome

Far away from my home,

I saw a brown moose

That was on the loose.

He was just walking down the street.

I thought it was really neat

To see a moose with legs so long

Singing a moosey kind of song.

I quickly snapped lots

Of funny camera shots.

Unfortunately, that scared it good.

I was afraid that it would.

Now the brown Moose

Is back on the loose.

I Am

I am kind and imaginative
I wonder if ice or water came first
I hear my conscience
I see living stuffed animals
I want a fairy god mother

I feel a unicorn’s sharp horn
I touch a horse’s mane
I worry about tests
I cry when my brother hurts me

I try to get good grades
I hope that I make lots of friends in the future

I wonder if the world can speak
I hear horses galloping in the forest
I see fairies dancing in the mist

I feel the world has many secrets still hidden
I touch the clouds in the sky

Stitch

My aunt has a dog named Stitch,
Who loves to run through the ditch.
She likes to sleep the day away,
But when she wakes she’s ready to play.
She barks and scares the squirrels away,
And sometimes she listens when she’s told to “Stay!”
Her favorite toy is a squeaky hedgehog,
She even carries it when she goes for a jog.
She has a furry friend named Max,
But sometimes her manners are a little lax.
Some days my aunt brings her to my home,
I sure do wish Stitch was my very own!
